Sometimes when people introduce Abdurraheem Green they say “He needs no introduction!” That just maybe because the information they found on Wikipedia didn’t read too good.
Abdurraheem Green has been a Muslim since 1987 when he converted in his early twenties.
It was a culmination of years of searching as a teenager for the deepest existential questions about the meaning of life.
Even then his interests included religion, philosophy, psychology and mythology and in fact everything that encompassed the human condition. He still pursues these interests, which is partly what lead him to develop this platform.
He had the benefit of a classical private education in one the wolds most prestigious Roman Catholic schools, Ampleforth College. He never completed his University Education studying history and left with the aim to be an author.
It was around this time he read a translation of the Quran. It was enough to him, but when soon afterward he read a biography of the Last Messenger Mohammed he was sure that this man was what he claimed to be.
It wasn’t long after his conversion that he found himself at the famous Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, London. Frustrated at his inability to respond effectively to attacks on his new faith he was spurred into action and was soon speaking himself. He became one of the most well known speakers there going regularly nearly every Sunday for over ten years.
Soon he was being invited to not only give lectures in Universities and Colleges all over the UK but internationally as well.
Over the years he has lectured on a wide range of subjects in many different countries but many of his most well know topics covered the age old conflict between the life of one devoted to obedience to the Creator on one hand and lure of the world and its temptations on the other. In fact that is the essence of the true hero’s journey.
With the physical stress of constant travel, a growing family to take care of as well as an increasingly hostile post 9/11 environment towards effective and powerful Muslim callers to truth, Abdurraheem turned his attention towards creating spaces for activists and duaat to develop. This membership site is part of that effort.
At the moment Abdurraheem is the site’s only coach/teacher/trainer, and he personally responds to most comments left in the comment section of training videos. He also keeps a watchful eye over the Facebook and WhatsApp groups, and welcome personal interaction that is respectful of the time take up by his many commitments.
